Nevada Qualification for Admittance

Below are the requirements for Nevada to a freshman standing to study law in the Nevada State:

  • Applicants have to receive degree of bachelor of laws, or an equivalent law degree from the law school approved by the committee on legal education & admission.
  • Applicants have attained the age of majority.
  • Applicants are required to be approved high school with a minimum unweighted overall grade point average of 2.5 or above on 4.0 scale.

Eligibility of Nevada Bar Exam

Candidates are not accepted into the State Bar of Nevada until they score at least 85 in the Multi-State Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE).

According to Supreme Court Rules 65.5 and 69, an applicant must be able to be able to pass the MPRE with a score of not less than 85, not later than three years prior to the year that an applicant takes the Nevada bar exam, and no later than 3 years from the date of passing.

Nevada Bar Examination

Nevada Bar Exam is a 2 and half day Exam. Day 1 consists of four 60 mins essay questions & one 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) question. Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE) 200 questions, Multiple choice exam. And, Day 3 consists of an additional 60-min essay questions.

Be present or readily available in The State of Nevada and remain there until the time of examination as per Rule 65, so as to allow and facilitate the examination, investigation and hearings required to assess the character, morals of the applicant and qualifications, as well as fitness to practice law.

Scoring & Grading

MBE weighs 1/3, and essay weights are 2/3. The scores are then compiled to determine if a satisfactory score of 75 has been obtained. The applicant must have an overall scaled score of at least 75 and a converted score of or more for at least three essay questions.

Exam Laptop Registration

The State Bar of Nevada provides the option of taking the NPT and NPT sections that comprise the bar exam by computers.
