Eligibility

Applicants for admission to the bar examination would be admitted unless he presents a certificate that he has satisfied the Secretary of Education that, before he began the study of law, he had to pursue & satisfactorily complete in an authorized & recognized university or college, required for admission.

Nebraska Application for Admission

  • Each Applicant should be required to sign an authorization & release form that extends to the commission & any persons supplying information thereto. Director may reject any incomplete application.
  • Form & content of the application: All applications must be made through the Court’s Online application system & in the manner prescribed by the commission as outlined. And the commission was modified under the forms as deemed necessary.
  • Time for Filling Application: All applicants must be completed & filed beginning Sep 1 & no later than Nov 1 preceding the Feb exam & beginning Jan 2 & no later than March 1 preceding July examination. Examinees should have to file fewer than 30 days after the deadline are subject to a late fee.
  • Refund Policy: Those applicants who’ve registered for the bar exam & cancels not more than 30 days before the examination, only the UBE test documents fee will be refunded.
  • Fingerprints: Applicants should have to submit two complete sets of fingerprints with the applicant’s bar application on a designated by the Commission as provided or have their fingerprints scanned by an authorized agency. Applicants must sign the cards & have the authorized official rolling applicant’s fingerprints also date & sign on the cards.
  • Those candidates who fail to enter the information on the top portion of the fingerprint, their card will be rejected or delayed.

Scoring & Grading

In the Nebraska Bar Exam, applicants should have scored at least 270. This equates to 135, based on the MBE’s 200-point scale. The scores of the exam sections will be weighted as follows: MEE 30%, MBE 50% & MPT 20%.

Laptop Registration Fee

  • There will be a laptop registration fee of $100 for the bar examination members. So, all the examinees should’ve to pay the applications to pay the fee.
  • This is a refundable fee, if there is an application delayed or cancelled.

Format

Nebraska Bar Exam is a 2-day UBE exam. Day 1 consists of two 90 minutes Multistate Performance Test (MPT) questions & six 30 minute Multistate Essay Exam Questions. Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), 200 questions, multiple-choice exam.

Why do need to get a fingerprinted?

Applicants are required to be fingerprinted as under Neb.Rev. 7-102(2). Fingerprints are submitted to the Nebraska State Patrol for national criminal history record information, check the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation. And, they must complete a notarized authorization form to permit the Bar Commission to request the criminal history record from the FBI.
